Introduction: Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch located in Nakasongola district is the proud home of the only White Rhinos in Uganda. The Rhino re-introduction project is a project of Rhino Fund Uganda and Uganda Wildlife Authority which is conveniently located 176km (100 miles) North of Kampala on the Gulu highway towards Murchison Falls National Park . Ziwa is the only place where you will be able to see the White Rhinos in Uganda.
Activity: Depart Kampala early by 07:00hrs and proceed north of the capital Kampala, the sanctuary is about a 2hours and half drive from Kampala, Early morning pick up from hotel or residence to avoid the traffic is advisable. Arrive at the rhino sanctuary and get the briefing from the Guides after which you will set off.
The short guided walk will lead you to these Rhinos, the experience and thrill of walking by the side of these animals in this impressive piece of wooded savanna and coming to take pictures from a few meters is an unforgettable experience. Normally you will spend less than 1 hour with this rhinos and then you will return to have your lunch.
After lunch you will calmly drive back to Kampala arrive by early evening to share the unforgettable memories. Dinner and overnight at your chosen accommodation. End of the Rhinos Day Tour.
