Important Information
Its abundant wildlife includes Gorillas and chimpanzees as well as the Big 5 and over 1000 species of birds. Remote Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a renowned for mountain gorilla sanctuary.
Murchison Falls National Park in the northwest is known for its 43m-tall waterfall and wildlife such as hippos and where by the mighty River Nile Bisects the park into two sectors, the Southern Sector & Northern Sectors.
Visa and International Vaccination
The Government of Uganda developed an electronic application processing system for visas, Entry Work Permits and Passes and it is now running. All persons intending to Travel, study or work in Uganda are encouraged to visit our E-visa Portal: www.visas.immigration.go.ug and apply for relevant immigration facilities. All visas, Permits and passes are approved within 2 -3 working days. Therefore applicants are advised to apply at least five (5) working days before their intended date of travel.
How it works
Upon application, one receives a notification with an application Number which can be used to track the application. Upon approval of the application, the applicant receives an email notification detailing the steps to be taken with an attachment of the e-visa/e-permit approval/authorization to travel. The attachment should be printed and presented to Immigration Officers as proof that the e-visa/e-permit was approved. Payment for visas will be made at the point of entry.
NB: The fee for the SINGLE ENTRY VISAS has been reduced. Our visa fee for Single entry has changed from 95 Euros to 45 Euros
Visas and Passes
Any person intending to enter into Uganda should do so only for lawful purposes and in accordance with national immigration laws, guidelines and formalities.
Foreign nationals intending to enter Uganda for purposes of employment should comply with requirements for expatriate employment in Uganda.
1. All visa prone nationalities must obtain Uganda visas to facilitate their entry into the country.
2. Uganda visas may be obtained at Uganda missions abroad or on arrival at the ports of entry in the country.
3. All travelers to the Republic of Uganda MUST have a valid Yellow Fever Immunization card.

By the fact that Uganda is a high end Gorilla trekking adventure destination and safari holiday in Africa, we advise our dear guests to have a precautionary health measure against malaria and yellow fever. We recommend Malaria Prophylaxis, some Visitors do take Larium or Melarone. But others who don’t like to take this medicine may as well use strong Mosquito repellants.
What To Bring For Gorilla Tracking
Uganda Wildlife Scene recommends the following to be packed as part of the Guests’ travel kit to Uganda based on; 1 the weather conditions, the thickness of the Forests and nature of the terrain.
1. A pair of light long sleeved shirt ( preferably khakis).
2. A pair of long light trousers ( preferably khakis).
3. Good Hiking shoes.
4. Insect Repellants.
5. Sun screen lotion.
6. A hat in case its hot while on walking activities and Game drives.
7. A pair of sun glasses.
8. Light rain gear while in the African Tropical Forests it could rain any time.
9. Head Lamp/ torch.
Currency Exchange
The official currency in Uganda is the Ugandan Shilling. Check OANDA for the latest exchange rates.
Euros, British Pounds, (US Dollars Of Year 2013 & Above are accepeted), South African Rand and other major currencies can be exchanged locally in Uganda. Additionally, exchange facilities are available at various bureaus de change and banks in major towns have ATMs.
