9 Days: Kidepo National Park , Sipi Falls, Source of the River Nile

Itinerary:

Day 1:    Welcome to Uganda The Pearl of Africa!
Arrival at Entebbe International Airport where you will be met by Representatives from Uganda Wildlife Scene Safaris   Later you will be transferred to your place of accommodation. Relax from jet lag overnight at Cassia Lodge or  Casa Miltu Hotel or Namirembe View Guest House.

Day 2:  Source of the River Nile , Sipi Falls & Masaba Coffee Tour :  After an early breakfast we shall proceed to visit the Source of the River Nile arrive at the exact spot where the River Nile leaves Lake Victoria. Later we will proceed to Sipi Falls. Lunch enroute. After lunch we will Tour Masaba Coffee of Mount Elgon Area,  this tour will enrich you with more insight of the whole process of the coffee from the End to the Beginning. community fields right to the packaging and export. From here it will be coming to evening then we will set off to proceed to Sipi Falls, near Mount Elgon arrive and  check in to your accommodation which is in the vicinity of Sipi Falls. Refreshments will be served later meal plans dinner and overnight at the Sipi River Lodge or Lacam Lodge or Noah’s Ark.

Day 3: After breakfast we will take a local guide to trek  On the foot hill of Mount Elgon where you will find Sipi Falls; A paradise full of flowers, birds, waterfalls and creeks. At least 3 waterfalls can be visited in a full day hike. Walking in this area must feel like being Adam or Eve, so  Prepare yourself for a beautiful full day in paradise! After breakfast, choose to go on a -3 hour or (for the real adventurers) – 7 hour hike through the region. Whichever you choose, you can be certain that you will pass more picturesque waterfalls, plantations and caves. Local villagers will be sure to greet you with ‘Jambo!’ and beaming smiles. If you’re feeling brave, one of the waterfalls is even perfect for that early morning shower… When you come back anice cup of warm Mount Elgon Coffee is waiting for you! Meal plans dinner and overnight at Sipi River Lodge or Lacam Lodge or Noah’s Ark.

Day 4: After Breakfast  we will departure towards the heart of the valley of Karamoja, crossing the reserves of the Pian Upe and Bokora. The stops are planned at various vantage points to observe some of the species of birds present in the area and to admire the Napak rock.  We will have our Packed lunch enroute and then proceed to Moroto, the capital of Karamoja. The transfer may last up 7 to 8 hours depending on the road conditions. Arrive and check in to your accommodation dinner and overnight at Mount Moroto Hotel or Leslona Hotel.

Day 5: Moroto  The Tribes of Matheniko and Tepeth:
After Breakfast we shall dedicate the whole day to meeting with the populations in Karamoja. In the morning departure to the mountains that surround Moroto, where live Tepeth, the original inhabitants of Karamoja, driven from other Karimojong tribes until the slopes of these mountains. In the afternoon we will visit a typical village “manyatta” of Matheniko plain, which, however, have changed their habits passing from pastoralism to agriculture; this meeting is a way to watch closely their customs, dances and traditional clothes. Return in the evening to Moroto for dinner and overnight at Mount Moroto or Leslona Hotel.

Day 6:  Kidepo National Park: After yesterday’s  thrilling experience it is time to enter into the most remote and pristine national park in the country, Kidepo Valley National Park. The park has some of the most amazing scenery in the country! For many people this is the most beautiful park of Uganda. Here you will find almost no tourists leaving you free to enjoy the park and its unique combination of wildlife without distraction. Arrive by early evening refreshments will be served, dinner and overnight at the Apoka Safari Lodge or Ngamor Wilderness Camp or Uganda Wildlife Authority Ensuite Bandas.

Day 7: After Early coffee, our guide will lead us for a game drive on the Kakine circuit. This brings us close  to the plains of the Narus valley. The Scenic view is splendid with Mt. Lotukei in the far background in the Sudan. Drive back at leisure to the camp for breakfast and lunch. After lunch we will drive you to the hot spring, past a nice Lopelangoria observatory point, Kidepo river up to the Hot spring. This scenic area will bring you close to the Hot spring and observe almost the entire park, and be able to sight the ostriches as they roam the short grassy plains. If lucky, you may have glimpse of the Kuddu, an antelope that lives in dry land areas and the elussive cheetah.  Later continue with your game drive as you return back to the Lodge. Refresh, later meal plans dinner and overnight at Apoka Safari Lodge or Ngamor Wilderness Camp or Uganda Wildlife Authority Ensuite Bandas.

Day 8: After breakfast we will pack our bags and depart Kidepo, drive to Gulu via Kitgum towns. We will choose a place and have our lunch enroute arrive in Gulu by early afternoon and check in to your Accommodation. Refreshments  later meal plans dinner and overnight at  Bomah Hotel Gulu or Acholi Inn.

Day 9:  After breakfast, we will prepare to leave this part of the world and head back to Entebbe. Stop by for lunch enroute and do your souvenir shopping. Transfer to Entebbe Airport. This will mark the End of our Safari.
